Thousands of dead fish wash ashore along 2km of coast in Veracruz, Mexico

Fish Kill Alert
The organization Tortugas Fundación Yepez AC reported that in its last trips on the beaches of Tecolutla, thousands of lifeless fish were found at the height of the Monte Gordo area of Costa Esmeralda. They are about two kilometers of beaches where approximately you can see more than four tons of sardine and trout, all of small sizes at the height of the shore of beaches. It seems that local fishermen use trawl nets to catch marine animals, but only the large ones that can be commercialized are being taken away and the small ones that end up recalling lifeless on the beaches are leaving. “Unfortunately, they take the biggest fish, I do not know if there is a method to avoid this ecocide, that they stay here dead in this beach area, we understand that the lords of the sea need to bring food to their homes, but they can realize the amount of dead fish in the area of beaches, this is a message of awareness, to avoid this type of problems “said Ricardo Yepez, director of the organization Tortugas Fundación Ypez AC
