About 10 tons of tilapia fish species at Lake Maninjau , Tanjungraya District, Agam Regency , West Sumatra, died due to strong winds that hit the area.

The Head of Agam’s Fisheries and Food Security Service, Ermanto, said that the dead fish with harvest ready conditions were in Muaro Pauh, Jorong Batuang Panjang, Nagari Sungai Batang, Tanjungraya District.

“This fish has died since Tuesday (2/25) after strong winds hit the area on Thursday (2/20/2020),” he said, Thursday (2/27/2020).

He said, 10 tons of dead fish came from dozens of floating net cages owned by 12 farmers on behalf of Asbal by two tons, Afis 500 kilograms, Udin one ton, Abeng one ton.
