Another chemical blast kills at least 1 and injures 9 in China

Chemical Explosion Alert

The explosion destroyed a factory belonging to Runxing Chemical, a subsidiary of the Runxing Group with 200 million yuan ($31 million) in registered capital, Xinhua reported.
 
ADN can emit toxic fumes when heated to decomposition, according to the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
 
The blast comes after 121 people were killed in massive explosions earlier this month at a hazardous goods storage facility in the northern port city of Tianjin.
 
The fires were spotted in a vehicle parking lot and at three other locations within a 3-kilometer (1.8-mile) evacuated area, the official Xinhua News Agency said.
 
The cause of the explosion in the China chemical plant is still unknown. Seven fire brigades consisting of a total of 150 firefighters and 20 engines were reportedly dispatched to the scene.
 
It said that 11 policemen are also among the dead and missing, making it the worst disaster for first responders in recent Chinese history. According to Xinhua, some of those brigades are trained to work with fires involving chemicals.
 
Two huge explosions tore through a warehouse storing risky chemicals in the northeastern city on August. 12, killing at least 116 people and sending shockwaves through apartment blocks kilometres away. Over 650 people have been injured and more than 17,000 homes damaged.
 
It emerged last week that officials with Rui Hai worldwide Logistics, the company that owned the Tianjin complex, had used its government connections to skirt existing safety laws.
